Pavel Latushka and Vladzimir Astapenka met with French Ambassador to Warsaw Frederic Bille. The NAM participants handed over to the ambassador copies of previously sent appeals to the heads of the ministries of finance, foreign affairs and the Bank of France on the possible adoption of one of two decisions:

  1. Imposition of sanctions against the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Belarus;
  2. Non-recognition of Lukashenka’s regime and his government and bringing this position by the authorized representatives of France to the IMF.

This will create an obstacle to the use of the special drawing rights (SDR) granted by the IMF to the unrecognized Lukashenka’s regime and his government.

Also, the Head of the NAM Pavel Latushka met with the Marshal of the Mazovian region Adam Struzik.

Adam Struzik expressed his readiness to raise the issue of repressions and massive violations of human rights in Belarus at the forums of European regions and to organize the participation of the NAM representatives in one of the meetings to provide information on the real state of affairs in our country.

Also during the meeting, an agreement was reached on feasible assistance from the authorities of the Mazovian region to Belarusian cultural workers, as well as on their participation in cultural events in the region.
