The first initiative of our Coordination Council Coalition is focused on supporting Belarusians

On June 16, 2024, the "Latushka’s Team and Movement 'For Freedom'" coalition presented a draft Declaration on the inadmissibility of extraditing Andrei Gnyot to Belarus. The declaration has already garnered support from a majority of members of the Coordination Council.

In this Declaration, the Coordinating Council appeals to the European Parliament, its members, the Serbian authorities and public, and partners of the Coordinating Council to employ all available diplomatic and interstate channels to prevent Andrei Gnyot's extradition to Belarus. They emphasize that in Belarus, Gnyot would face torture and inhumane treatment, jeopardizing his life and health.

The Coordination Council called upon European Union countries and the international community to protect the rights and safety of Belarusians facing persecution for their political beliefs. The appeal states, "Together, we can demonstrate that Lukashenko's demands and his punitive policies hold no sway in European, democratic countries."

The declaration will be sent to the European Parliament, its members, the European Parliament's representation in Warsaw, and other partners of the Coordination Council to inform them of the situation surrounding the illegal persecution of Andrei Gnyot by Alexander Lukashenko's regime and to convey the Coordination Council's position.

The United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus will also be informed about the adoption of the Declaration for potential use in their efforts to secure the release of Andrei Gnyot.
