"We highly appreciate the statement adopted by the European Parliament, which once again underscores the unwavering support for the democratic aspirations of the Belarusian people. The statement accurately reflects the current reality in Belarus, where elections continue to be used not as a mechanism for expressing the will of the people but as a tool for seizing power.

After the falsified elections of 2020, Belarusians have faced an unprecedented level of violence and human rights violations. European lawmakers are also aware of this horrifying statistic: over 1,300 political prisoners, thousands arrested, and hundreds of thousands forced to leave Belarus in search of safety.

The rights and freedoms that are crucial for every Belarusian, including the right to participate in voting, continue to be violated by the regime. Today, any elections without transparent conditions and without the participation of international observers are nothing but a farce.

We thank the members of the European Parliament for this document, which not only condemns the actions of the regime but also sends a clear signal that the Belarusian people deserve free choice and respect for their rights.

Belarus deserves a future in which every citizen can freely vote and determine the fate of their country without fear, threats, or coercion. We will continue to fight for these rights and for the return of our country to the path of democracy".
