Pavel Latushka: Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, Ambassador

A phone conversation took place between the Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus, Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management Pavel Latushka, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radosław Sikorski. The discussion was initiated by the Polish Foreign Minister.

The Polish Foreign Minister emphasized that Poland distinguishes between the Belarusian people and the regime of the dictator. Poland is taking steps to ease conditions for the legalization of Belarusians, will maintain its stance of not restricting the crossing o f the Belarusian-Polish border by Belarusian citizens, and does not plan to introduce a ban on the use of personal vehicles with Belarusian registration, nor does it plan to confiscate vehicles with Belarusian registration, as is being done with vehicles registered in Russia.

At the same time, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry informed that Poland maintains its demands on the Lukashenko’s regime: to stop the migration war, to extradite the criminal responsible for the murder of a Polish soldier, and continues to push for the release of political prisoners in Belarus, including Polish minority activist Andrzej Poczobut.

The Polish Foreign Minister stressed that Belarusians are a European people, and the future of the Belarusian people lies in the common European home.

Pavel Latushka thanked the minister for Poland's principled stance and noted that for Belarusians, Poland's leading role in the European Union is essential, as it is the country that most deeply understands the importance of supporting the democratic movement and democratic transformations in Belarus, as well as the importance of Europe's openness to Belarusians.
