Pavel Latushka and Radoslaw Sikorsky noted the importance of separating the actions of the Lukashenka regime and the Belarusian society in the perception of Europeans

The head of the NAM, Pavel Latushka, met with the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, and now a member of the European Parliament, Radoslaw Sikorsky.

Topics covered during the meeting were:

— the need to increase sanctions pressure on the Lukashenka regime as an instrument of responsibility for massive violations of human rights in Belarus and complicity in Russian aggression against Ukraine;

— the importance of further collection of evidence of the commission of war crimes and crimes related to violations of human rights by Lukashenka and his accomplices for transfer to the international criminal court in The Hague.

Radoslaw Sikorsky agreed with the NAM’s position that Lukashenka’s complicity in aggression is a factor that greatly contributes to Russia’s military actions against Ukraine.

During the meeting, the interlocutors came to a common opinion on the importance of focusing the attention of the European society on the separation of the positions of the Lukashenka regime in relation to Ukraine and the position of the Belarusian society. Pavel Latushka noted that 97% of Belarusians are categorically against the participation of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus in the war against Ukraine. Radoslaw Sikorsky pointed out the importance of joint public events in Poland and other EU countries to explain to EU citizens the differences between the current position of Belarusians and the regime’s propaganda.

It was agreed to discuss all these issues on the joint broadcast of Pavel Latushka and Radoslaw Sikorsky on Radio Free Europe on March 27. The coverage of these topics in the social networks of the European politician and the possibility of interaction with European parliamentarians of other countries were discussed.
