Czech Republic support Lukashenka's prosecution


Head of the NAM Pavel Latushka held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Poland Jakub Duerr


During the meeting, the issue of the possible participation of the Armed Forces of Belarus in the ground operation in the war against Ukraine unleashed by Russia with the support of the Lukashenka regime was discussed. Pavel Latushka provided information on the activities of democratic forces to prevent the participation of the Armed Forces of Belarus in hostilities in Ukraine, the development of the National Liberation Movement against the occupation of the Russian Federation and for the liberation of Belarus from Lukashenka’s dictatorship.


The possibility of further steps by the NAM at the level of the European Union to hold the Lukashenka regime accountable for mass repressions against the Belarusian people and complicity in aggression against the Ukrainian people was considered. Pavel Latushka initiated the issue of attitude towards the citizens of Belarus in the Czech Republic in connection with the sanctions policy introduced against the Lukashenka regime.


The head of the NAM stressed the importance of the division in the perception of the Czech authorities and society of the actions of the Lukashenka regime and the position of the Belarusian society, which continues the struggle for the freedom of Belarus and supports the struggle for the independence of Ukraine.


Pavel Latushka conveyed appeals to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic on the importance of scaling up pressure on the Lukashenka regime with specific initiatives, including criminal liability for representatives of the regime, as well as an appeal to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic to provide assistance to citizens of Belarus who find themselves in a difficult situation in the Czech Republic.
