Actions of solidarity with Belarusian journalists in European cities

Archive news

September 8 is the International Day of Solidarity of Journalists. Belarusians abroad will organize on this day actions of solidarity with Belarusian journalists in European cities. Actions will take place in Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. All meetings will start at 19:00 Belarusian time.

  • Vilnius — V. Kudirka Square
  • Warsaw — Monument to Nicolaus Copernicus
  • Bialystok — monument to Józef Piłsudski
  • Wroclaw — market square
  • Kiev — Monument to Pavel Sheremet
  • Prague — Jan Palach Square

Right now, 28 representatives of the Belarusian media are in custody. And the criminal regime continues repressions against journalists: honest professionals are jailed or deported from the country, media sites are blocked, equipment is taken away. That is why it is so important to support journalists and help them do their jobs — not just to help them find information, but to help them disseminate it themselves. It depends on each one of us how many people will know the truth.

Live broadcasts from the actions, as well as speeches by politicians, journalists, and public figures: link. One of the participants in the broadcast will be the Head of the NAM, Pavel Latushka.
