Head of the NAM, member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council Pavel Latushka sent appeals to David-Maria Sassoli, President of the European Parliament, and Josep Borrell, High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, spoke about concrete actions that contribute to resolving the internal political crisis in Belarus.

Official requests for meetings were sent to the Embassies of Russia and other representatives of Russia.

Based on the OSCE’s report within the framework of the "Moscow Mechanism" and the approach expressed in the resolution of the European Parliament on October 21, 2020, the NAM proposed, among other measures, to form a high-level Mission in the near future that would help resolve the crisis in and around Belarus.

According to the NAM, it is important to include high representatives of the EU and Russia in this Mission. The participation of the Russian Federation in the crisis resolution is welcome and depends on the readiness to give a real assessment of the mass and brutal violence of the power apparatus and to support the approaches of the Belarusian society to stop the gross violation of the Constitution in the country.

The Mission aims to promote real dialogue to end violence and repressions, bring perpetrators to justice, release political prisoners and hold new democratic elections.
Pavel Latushka stressed the unprecedented scale and brutality of the repression against Belarusians by the power apparatus, which does not leave indifferent either the Russian or European public.
