In response, party spokesman Harvard Sandvik reports that the Liberal Party has already raised the Belarus question in conversation with the head of the party’s international committee and a party member who works in the foreign affairs committee in the Norwegian parliament.
"We will continue to follow developments in Belarus closely and maintain a dialogue with both the relevant Norwegian ministries and Yara itself," it said in the letter.
Let us remind that the NAM has recently handed over to Yara management a petition with 83.5 thousand signatures of Belarusians from all over the world, urging to terminate the contract with "Belaruskali" and not to sign new agreements until there is an end to repression in the country.
The Belarusian diaspora actions near Norwegian diplomatic missions also continue. Thus, the other day Lithuanian Belarusians went to the Norwegian embassy in Vilnius, and British Belarusians picketed the Norwegian embassy in London. Representatives of the diaspora handed over an open letter of the "Belaruskali" strike committee to the director of Yara, a copy of the petition and reports of Amnesty International on human rights violations in Belarus.
The UK diaspora calls on Belarusians of all countries to go out on pickets to Norwegian embassies and request meetings with ambassadors to inform the Norwegians widely about the current situation at "Belaruskali" and in Belarus in general.
