Statement on the occupation, pressure on the regime, high-level meetings and information work

The Member’s National Anti-Crisis Management issued a statement on the occupation of the Republic of Belarus by the Russian Federation on 16 March and prepared a manual "How to make the whole world know that the Belarusians are against the war?". Also, the NAU initiated the campaign "Not a cent for war!" to suspend the activities of foreign companies and service providers in Belarus as part of the anti-war movement of Belarusians.

The NAU head Pavel Latushko had conversations with deputies of the European Parliament: former Lithuanian Prime Minister and European deputy Andrius Kubilius, former Foreign Minister and MEP Radoslaw Sikorski, rapporteur on Belarus in the European Parliament Petras Austravicius, Bundestag deputy Frank Müller-Rosentritt. The NAU head held meetings with Ann Linde, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden, and Jakub Dürr, Czech ambassador to Poland.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Pavel Latushko met with Polish President Andrzej Duda, Polish Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński, Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau and Sejm Marshal Elżbieta Witek.

Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Pavel Latushko attended a speech by US President Joe Biden at the Royal Castle in Warsaw at the invitation of the American side. A conversation was held with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Pawel Latushko had talks with the leadership of the Polish Senate, the head of the Prime Minister’s Office Michal Dworczyk, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov, as well as with representatives of the US State Department. All interlocutors pointed out that the dictator Lukashenka would inevitably be held responsible for the gross violation of international law and the provision of Belarusian territory for the aggression of the armed forces of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Representatives of the Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and the People’s Anti-Crisis Directorate conducted a working visit to Kiev. They held meetings with representatives of the Kalinouski battalion and with the leadership and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.

The NAU continues its work aimed at restricting any international contacts of officials of the Lukashenko regime. After the prohibition to visit the headquarters of the Council of Europe and the withdrawal of accreditation of the representative of the regime, a similar decision was taken by the European Parliament. The Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe has also decided to suspend all relations with Belarus in connection with Russia’s complicity in the aggression against Ukraine.

Pavel Latushko and representatives of the NAU team gave interviews to the following foreign and Belarusian media: Ukraine 24, 1+1, Washington post, Rzeczpospolita, Radio Racia, Belsat, Malanka, Polsat news, TVN 24, Republika, wp. pl, TVP info, Popular Politics, Nexta, BGM, Real Belarus, FreeDom and many others.

On March 25th, the NAU head in Bialystok took part in the Wola Day rally, and on March 26th he took part in the Freedom Day march in Warsaw. Pavel Latushko stressed during his speech that it was impossible to imagine independent Belarus without independent Ukraine and independent Ukraine without independent Belarus.
