On 11 May, a fire broke out in one of the main Catholic shrines in Belarus, the National Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslau.
The fire almost destroyed the roof of the church. The Blessed Sacrament and the icon of the Mother of God of Budslau were moved to safety. Today, the legendary icon is a national shrine in Belarus, as evidenced by the coronation of the icon on 2 July 1998.
The National Sanctuary of the Mother of God of Budslau is one of three small basilicas located in our country. It is not only a spiritual centre, but also a unique monument of architecture and history of Belarus.
I urge all concerned Belarusians not to stay aside and raise funds to restore this sacred monument of architecture built in the 18th century.
You can transfer your donations on the website of the community.
Thanks to all concerned Belarusians!
